This week I am so very thankful to be able to grow a healthy baby boy. I'm actually thankful for the complications we had in the beginning because it made us appreciate a healthy pregnancy so much more. I'm thankful that this pregnancy has gone by fast so far and we only have 12 weeks to go!
I'm thankful for a loving and supportive husband who sings nursery rhymes and Christmas songs to Camden at night. Even though he gets the words wrong. I will be sure Camden knows the right lyrics. I am super thankful for our awesome friends and family. Camden is going to be surrounded by so much love.
We went to DeeMaw's for an early Thanksgiving dinner and then over to Aunt Carol's for another round. Camden got a full meal to himself and so did momma. I felt so stuffed the whole day but it was worth it...that's what Thanksgiving is for! It was great spending time with both families.
Camden has been enjoying these yummy homemade mini apple pies that I slaved over on Wednesday night. He wasn't a fan of them at first because they made momma's feet and back hurt since they took forever to prepare but once he tasted them he forgot all about that stuff and was in heaven, especially when they're warm, mmm! Everyone enjoyed them at both places on Thanksgiving and we even had some leftover. Yeah, that was our breakfast this morning. Amazing!
Oh and btw, I am NOT thankful for waking up with the most painful charlie horse in my calf...whew that was NOT fun!
Went for a checkup at the OB on Monday 11/25. Camden's HR was 145bpm, which seems to be pretty consistent with the previous visits. I asked the doc a few questions since I was curious.
I have been getting some kind of indigestion or reflux or something. It feels like I have food stuck in my esophagus and makes it hard to breathe. Tums don't help and laying down makes it worse. Maybe I need some Prilosec. Of course he said it's normal and to see my primary care doctor if it got any worse.
I told him about my tailbone problem at work and guess what he said? Yep, that's normal. I swear, those are his favorite words. He did say a pillow will probably help though. I just hope I'm not one of those who actually break their tailbone during labor...that would not be cool! I feel like I fell on ice and busted my butt!
I wondered if he could tell how much Camden weighs but since I don't get any more sonograms there's no way to tell. He measured my belly with the tape measure and said he's right on track and I'm measuring perfectly for 28 weeks.
I asked if he knew what his position was but he said there's no way to tell that either since he's flipping around all the time now. But apparently, he's supposed to be moving towards the head-down position this week.
I asked him how my weight gain was going and he said it was perfect. I have gained 16 pounds so far and according to what I'm reading online I should gain about 11 pounds in the third trimester. I have a feeling I'll gain more than that towards the end since he's going to be a few of those pounds anyway.
Of course he could see the swelling in my feet and the only suggestion he had for that was to just stay away from sodium, stay off my feet, and keep them up if possible. I wish there was another solution! Gonna try epsom salt bath or maybe put some ice on them. Doesn't make sense...I can't eat salt but I can soak my feet in it, ha!
Doc told me that since he had me test so early (24wks) for gestational diabetes, he wants me to test again. So, I have to go and drink that crazy sugar drink again and sit there for an hour before giving blood to determine whether I have it or not. What a pain! Now, I go see the doc every 2 weeks rather than every 4 weeks. I think when I'm 36 weeks it goes to every week. Can't believe there are only 12 more weeks to go!
