Future Cheesehead
No matter how much I try, Camden will not be a Redskins fan. His daddy loves his team far too much for me to even try to argue about whose team the baby will root for (as if he will be rooting for a team when he's a baby). I'm sure he'll look cute in green and yellow because he's going to look cute in anything. We bought him his first Packers outfit...
Thankful for the 3rd Trimester!
This week I am so very thankful to be able to grow a healthy baby boy. I'm actually thankful for the complications we had in the beginning because it made us appreciate a healthy pregnancy so much more. I'm thankful that this pregnancy has gone by fast so far and we only have 12 weeks to go!
I'm thankful for a loving and supportive husband who sings nursery rhymes and Christmas songs to Camden at night. Even though he gets the words wrong. I will be sure Camden knows the right lyrics. I am super thankful for our awesome friends and family. Camden is going to be surrounded by so much love.
We went to DeeMaw's for an early Thanksgiving dinner and then over to Aunt Carol's for another round. Camden got a full meal to himself and so did momma. I felt so stuffed the whole day but it was worth it...that's what Thanksgiving is for! It was great spending time with both families.
Camden has been enjoying these yummy homemade mini apple pies that I slaved over on Wednesday night. He wasn't a fan of them at first because they made momma's feet and back hurt since they took forever to prepare but once he tasted them he forgot all about that stuff and was in heaven, especially when they're warm, mmm! Everyone enjoyed them at both places on Thanksgiving and we even had some leftover. Yeah, that was our breakfast this morning. Amazing!
Oh and btw, I am NOT thankful for waking up with the most painful charlie horse in my calf...whew that was NOT fun!
Went for a checkup at the OB on Monday 11/25. Camden's HR was 145bpm, which seems to be pretty consistent with the previous visits. I asked the doc a few questions since I was curious.
I have been getting some kind of indigestion or reflux or something. It feels like I have food stuck in my esophagus and makes it hard to breathe. Tums don't help and laying down makes it worse. Maybe I need some Prilosec. Of course he said it's normal and to see my primary care doctor if it got any worse.
I told him about my tailbone problem at work and guess what he said? Yep, that's normal. I swear, those are his favorite words. He did say a pillow will probably help though. I just hope I'm not one of those who actually break their tailbone during labor...that would not be cool! I feel like I fell on ice and busted my butt!
I wondered if he could tell how much Camden weighs but since I don't get any more sonograms there's no way to tell. He measured my belly with the tape measure and said he's right on track and I'm measuring perfectly for 28 weeks.
I asked if he knew what his position was but he said there's no way to tell that either since he's flipping around all the time now. But apparently, he's supposed to be moving towards the head-down position this week.
I asked him how my weight gain was going and he said it was perfect. I have gained 16 pounds so far and according to what I'm reading online I should gain about 11 pounds in the third trimester. I have a feeling I'll gain more than that towards the end since he's going to be a few of those pounds anyway.
Of course he could see the swelling in my feet and the only suggestion he had for that was to just stay away from sodium, stay off my feet, and keep them up if possible. I wish there was another solution! Gonna try epsom salt bath or maybe put some ice on them. Doesn't make sense...I can't eat salt but I can soak my feet in it, ha!
Doc told me that since he had me test so early (24wks) for gestational diabetes, he wants me to test again. So, I have to go and drink that crazy sugar drink again and sit there for an hour before giving blood to determine whether I have it or not. What a pain! Now, I go see the doc every 2 weeks rather than every 4 weeks. I think when I'm 36 weeks it goes to every week. Can't believe there are only 12 more weeks to go!

Growing Pains
During week 27 this baby has been using my bladder as a pillow. It seems like I'm going to the bathroom a lot more frequently these days and I can feel him pressing against my bladder. While he's using my bladder as a pillow, it seems like my uterus is using my tailbone as its pillow. I feel like an old lady when I go to get up from my work chair. Speaking of pillows, I'm gonna have to buy a 'donut' cushion or something because my work chair is not comfy and it's getting ridiculous.
Since my feet are always swollen these days, I had to go buy some more comfortable work shoes since the ones I had were digging into the tops of my feet. I ended up having to get a size bigger because I didn't want them to be tight on my feet, so I got a size 10. They're not really "work" shoes though, more like moccasins...gotta love Payless. Oh and of course NOW they're on sale, might have to go get another pair! Mark would probably love for me to get this pair, haha.
Speaking of getting bigger sizes, I ended up having to do the same with a new bra because the wires in my regular bra were digging into my ribcage.
So, not only am I buying bigger sized clothes, I had to get bigger shoes and a bigger bra too. Everything is growing...but it's all because he's growing so I'm ok with that. At 27 weeks, he weighs about 2 pounds and is about 14 inches...and if he happened to be born today he would most likely survive without any long term problems.
In addition to craving cinnamon, which I have wanted all the time since week 10...I now want anything chocolate or caramel. Chocolate covered pretzels, caramel popcorn, chocolate ice cream, cinnamon buns, all that good stuff...that's not so good for ya.

Nursery Theme
I forgot to tell you, we decided on the nursery theme.
It's called Sweet JoJo Zig Zag Turquoise and Gray Chevron.
We didn't end up getting the lamp, wall hangings, or mobile because we want to incorporate gray elephants into the theme with those things. Our registry has a few items that will go great in the nursery so if we don't get them as a baby shower gift we will buy them.
I'll post a picture once we finish putting everything together in Camden's room!
26 weeks down, 3 months to go!
Camden can now open his eyes, which is one of the hardest things for momma to do these days. All I wanna do is sleep when I get home from work and I can barely keep my eyes open throughout the day. He's taking all my energy from me.
My feet get swollen randomly, no rhyme or reason. One day they'll be swollen, and it won't even be a day when I eat salty foods or are on my feet a lot. Then the next day they'll be perfectly normal. Heartburn is still there, and I think a little bit of indigestion too. I can't lay down right after eating a big meal or else it feels like it's all stuck in my throat/chest.
Baby boy is about 9 inches and 2 pounds this week!
Can't believe he'll be here in 3 months! Momma has lots of nesting to do once the roommate moves out in a couple weeks. We still have to get the nursery together. The bumpers were giving me a hard time and I can't reach with my belly in the way so daddy's gonna have to do that. We need to hang curtains, move things from the basement, and I would like to wash all of his clothes and put them in his dresser/closet. He will be in the bassinet in our room for the first few months but I still want his nursery to be ready before he gets here. We're hoping to move the chaise lounge from our bedroom to the spare room/office and put a glider in the bedroom. This will probably come in handy for late night feedings, since it's not easy to get in and out of our bed (too high and not comfy to sit on). Oh and we need to organize the messy garage and make room for all the clothes we'll be rotating out as he grows.

Emotional Mess
On November 13th (26w4d) I cried for absolutely no reason. Grr hormones!
Registry Fun!
We went to Target to start our registry on November 11. I started out with the scanner but after the first item it got taken away from me and Mark was in charge of it. He was a little tipsy from having a couple beers at dinner so he went crazy with the scanner at first. He was putting car seats on the registry when we already have free ones that were handed down to us. I wanted to shoot him in the face with the scanner but let him have his way on some things. We didn't want to register for any clothes since Camden will be all set with the generous donations we have gotten from our family members. But he insisted on scanning some outfit with the word "Daddy" somewhere on it. Same with some pacifiers. I just let it go...you have to pick your battles and my feet were hurting too bad to fight over it.
The nice lady at guest services gave us a packet to congratulate us. It included samples of diapers, prenatals, a bottle, pacifier, and a $20 gift card to Shutterfly! Can't wait to make some photo books! We figured we would just register at one place. We don't really need much, just the basics...and NO clothes please! Hopefully we'll find a way to incorporate that on the invitation because his dresser and closet are already starting to fill up!
I did end up deleting the car seat when we got home and I logged in online. Then I added a few things that we didn't see in the store in case someone wants to shop online. Here's the link to our BABY REGISTRY! By the way, they have Packers items if you want to shop online and make Daddy happy. Those were the only clothes we did add to our registry...my baby is gonna be a cheesehead but I will try to sneak some Redskins clothes on him when Daddy isn't looking.
We will have our baby shower on January 5. Girls only, not coed. But Mark will come help open gifts and of course load the car afterwards. They're throwing me a shower at work too, on January 15. I'm excited for both showers and we're so grateful for our wonderful friends and family who will help us out by showering Camden with lots of gifts...and love!

25 down...15 to go
It's like the first trimester is back when it comes to my energy level. I have wanted to sleep right when I got home every day of the 25th week. Heartburn comes randomly, not only after eating. So Tums are stocked up in my purse now. And the feet swelling is a disaster. Nothing makes them better no matter what I try. I hope these last 3 months fly by as fast as the first six did!
Baby's development this week is kinda cool. He can tell if he's upside down, he's getting some baby fat and muscle, and his skin is no longer transparent...it's solid like ours! If he were to be born today he has a 50-80% survival rate. Good to know but he needs to cook a lot longer before he even thinks about joining this crazy world.
Every time the dogs bark it scares Camden and he kicks. It's kinda crazy how he responds to noises like that in there. Also if I drink a glass of orange juice he will move around like crazy! You can see him move from the outside now, so neat!
Daddy sings this weird song to him at night and he kicks because he doesn't like it. Of course daddy thinks the opposite. Something about a cat in a hat who lives with a rat and they have a pet bat and when he turned 18 he got a tat. And that's the story of the cat in the hat. The end.
P.S. The worst part is having that damn song stuck in my head for hours or having dreams about cats who live in hats!

Happy Halloween
Camden enjoyed this yummy cupcake from Crumbs. Instead of participating in our neighborhood's parade, handing out candy, dressing up, or going trick-or-treating...this momma hung out with these little pumpkins instead.
Jeremiah, 8 weeks
Kennedy, 1 week
Can't wait to dress up Camden next year. He'll be 8 months and we'll be able to push him around in the stroller while Logan, Jeremiah, and Kennedy go trick-or-treating.
Nursery Furniture Assembly
While everyone else was out at Halloween parties on October 26, baby daddy and I decided to tackle the project of assembling Camden's nursery furniture.
About halfway through assembly my back was starting to hurt from sitting on the floor or standing so much. I was just done, it was not fun to me. Mark said "go lay down, I'll finish" but I wanted to help so I continued. Then at some point he goes "this isn't fun to you?" haha why would it be fun? I'm like "uhh no, it's not fun...I wanna get it over with!" and he says "this is fun to me, I enjoy doing this kind of stuff". Typical male I guess? I just don't see that as being any kind of FUN...it was torture to me.
My favorite part was seeing the end result and it made it all worth it. We started around 8pm and didn't finish until 1am. Whew! Camden better appreciate his awesome crib, changing table, and dresser! He probably won't even be in his crib for a few months after he's born since he will be sleeping in our room in the bassinet but it still felt good to get his nursery all set up.
We ordered this set and can't wait to set it up once it's delivered. I love the gray/chevron with the turquoise. We didn't get the star mobile or the wall art in the photo above since we're going to incorporate elephants into the nursery with those things.
It's coming along and he will be here before we know it! Like in just over 3 months...wow!
Glucose Test
On October 25 (23w6d) I went to the lab to take my glucose test. The drink actually wasn't as bad as everyone described. I got the orange flavor - she didn't give me a choice. They only give you 5 minutes to get it down and it went straight to my head when I drank it since it was pure sugar. I felt dizzy and weird. I sat in the lab for an hour waiting for her to draw my blood after the drink settled. It really wasn't a bad process, just time consuming.
I went to the doctor on October 29 for a follow up appointment to find out that the test came back and I do not have gestational diabetes. He said since I tested so early (basically right at 24 weeks) he might want to test me again in a few weeks just to be sure. What a pain...why didn't he just wait in the first place? Anyway, I was glad to get that over with and hope I don't have to do it again.

Cousin Kennedy
October 24 was a very exciting day for our family. It was the day Megan had a scheduled c-section to have her second baby. She didn't find out the gender during her pregnancy so it was even more exciting for us to find out what she was having. Logan's field trip to the pumpkin patch got rained out on October 11 and rescheduled to October 24, of all days. I agreed to go as a chaperone so that Logan could attend his first field trip. It was really pushing it with time. We got to the hospital at 7:30 when Megan was supposed to go to the OR for her c-section. She was still in her room when we got there and didn't end up going back until a little after 8:00. I was stressing out because Logan and I had to leave to meet his class at 9:00 and we really wanted to meet his little brother or sister before we left. As we were getting ready to walk out the door to head to the school Gary came down the hall saying it's a girl. Of course we didn't believe him because he's a jokester...so we were hoping they would let the baby come back into the room before we had to leave. Luckily, at about 8:50 they brought her back and of course mom, Devon, and I had to take her diaper off just to be sure Gary wasn't teasing. Sure enough, no penis...yay! After a few kisses and photos we had to leave baby Kennedy to make it to the bus for the field trip.
Here are some photos of Camden's awesome cousins on October 24, Kennedy Lynn's birthday!

23 Week Bug
I felt fine on Friday, October 18. Claudia went to get us Subway for lunch...I was so hungry and enjoyed my pepperoni sub. Mark and I decided that we were going to go to Fredericksburg to pick up the crib from Babies R Us and we would just grab dinner while we were down there. We decided on Shane's Rib Shack since we've heard it's yummy. During the commute home, I actually fell asleep which never happens. I almost fell asleep on the couch waiting for Mark to get home and was just super sleepy all of a sudden.

He picked me up and we went to pick up the crib. Thankfully it was an easy process and it fit perfectly in our SUV. When we got to the restaurant Mark had to order for me because I didn't know what I wanted because nothing looked good. I wasn't hungry and didn't have an appetite...but I knew I should be hungry since I hadn't eaten since 1pm and it was nearly 8pm. I had a few bites of mac & cheese and a couple french fries but I just couldn't eat any more than that. We brought my leftovers (sampler platter included chicken tenders, pulled pork, and baby back ribs...which I would have normally eaten since I love BBQ). I went to bed right when we got home.
Woke up at 1am with body aches. I took my temperature and it was a low grade fever at 99.8, but our thermometer is super cheap and probably not accurate so it coulda been worse than that. I tried going back to sleep but couldn't get comfortable in any position because my back was hurting so badly. Had to end up taking two 325mg Tylenols and fell asleep for a few hours but woke up feeling the same in the morning.
I had a photo shoot scheduled for 10am. Wasn't hungry when I woke up, but brought a granola bar and some water with me because I knew I had to eat for Camden. Luckily the shoot was for my cousins' kiddos and I didn't have to fake it...I told them I felt like crap and to bear with me. They understood and were great sports which made my job so much easier. The photos actually turned out really good for me not being on my A-game so I was proud of that! You can see the photos here.
After the shoot I met Mark at Volkswagen to have my car serviced. We went to trade in our vacuum for a new one while we were waiting for the car to be serviced. I wasn't feeling well the whole time and just wanted to get it over with. I was hoping to feel better by 4 because I really wanted to go to our nephew Connor's baseball game. When we got back to the dealership we got some bad news. My car needed brakes, rotors, and an alignment. This was a shock to us since it only had 33k miles, so why would it need brakes and rotors already?! Anyway, after talking it through we decided to look into the option of trading it in for a brand new car to see if that was a better deal and would save us money. We definitely didn't have the extra money (we had just spent $600 on a new vacuum!) to spend on fixing the car and they were saying it was almost metal to metal and I shouldn't drive it long before getting it fixed. So I let Mark do all the talking and didn't care about anything except feeling better. I was drinking water the whole time because I hadn't eaten so I knew I needed to at least drink. We ended up leaving the dealership with a loaner because we decided to leave mine there (since we shouldn't drive it without fixing it first) and were going to go back on Monday night to finalize the paperwork of buying a new one. I felt bad but had to cancel on going to Connor's game because I felt so terrible that I knew I needed to go to the doctor.
So we were going to go to Panera so that I could get some soup but decided we should go to Patient First before we did that. When we got there they took us back right away. Had a low grade temperature there and when they did blood work they saw that I was dehydrated. They told me they wanted to put me on an IV to hydrate me. I asked if I could just go to Panera and eat instead since I hadn't eaten since 10am that morning. Not a chance - they said that wouldn't cut it and I needed much more fluid than a meal from Panera. So they couldn't find a vein opposite my elbow and had to try to put the IV in my hand/wrist. This was no fun because my veins are terrible and uncooperative when it comes to accessing them and I was tortured by the needle for what felt like forever before they finally got it in. I know Mark was laughing at me because he makes fun of how big of a wimp I am but that was like the worst pain ever! I think he was too busy taking photos of my nurse's buttcrack though...
I had to get a shot in the "hip" as they said (which really was my booty) for the nausea, and that actually helped because my stomach started feeling better. They tested me for the flu by swabbing a q-tip up my nose - definitely not a pleasant feeling either. After two bags of IV fluids they finally released me. Mark went to get Panera and I took like 4 bites of my soup before passing out. Sunday was a lazy day and I only got off the couch to go to the bathroom, which was pretty often! Couldn't go to work on Monday or Tuesday because I couldn't get far enough away from the bathroom to drive 40 miles, plus I still felt cruddy with stomach pains, so I stayed home and rested. The doc wanted me to follow up with my OB to make sure everything was good with the baby, so I went on Monday morning. He told me I basically had an intestinal flu and told me I could take Imodium and gave me a pill for nausea. He said the baby was just fine and measuring perfectly so I felt better after hearing that. I was hoping the sickness only affected me and not him and luckily that was the case. I ended up feeling much better when I woke up on Wednesday and went to work. It was like it just magically went away outta nowhere. Four days was long enough for that virus to stay with me!
Anyway, this is what we ended up getting on Monday night and we are actually saving money and have a brand new car where we don't have to pay outta pocket to fix anything AND our first month payment was waived...no brainer! We love it and I'm sure Camden will too!

Here's the lovely 23 week photo. Nothing cute to say because I still felt like crap, sorry...week 23 was a LONG and miserable one for this momma!
