We went to Target to start our registry on November 11. I started out with the scanner but after the first item it got taken away from me and Mark was in charge of it. He was a little tipsy from having a couple beers at dinner so he went crazy with the scanner at first. He was putting car seats on the registry when we already have free ones that were handed down to us. I wanted to shoot him in the face with the scanner but let him have his way on some things. We didn't want to register for any clothes since Camden will be all set with the generous donations we have gotten from our family members. But he insisted on scanning some outfit with the word "Daddy" somewhere on it. Same with some pacifiers. I just let it go...you have to pick your battles and my feet were hurting too bad to fight over it.
The nice lady at guest services gave us a packet to congratulate us. It included samples of diapers, prenatals, a bottle, pacifier, and a $20 gift card to Shutterfly! Can't wait to make some photo books! We figured we would just register at one place. We don't really need much, just the basics...and NO clothes please! Hopefully we'll find a way to incorporate that on the invitation because his dresser and closet are already starting to fill up!
I did end up deleting the car seat when we got home and I logged in online. Then I added a few things that we didn't see in the store in case someone wants to shop online. Here's the link to our BABY REGISTRY! By the way, they have Packers items if you want to shop online and make Daddy happy. Those were the only clothes we did add to our registry...my baby is gonna be a cheesehead but I will try to sneak some Redskins clothes on him when Daddy isn't looking.
We will have our baby shower on January 5. Girls only, not coed. But Mark will come help open gifts and of course load the car afterwards. They're throwing me a shower at work too, on January 15. I'm excited for both showers and we're so grateful for our wonderful friends and family who will help us out by showering Camden with lots of gifts...and love!
