He picked me up and we went to pick up the crib. Thankfully it was an easy process and it fit perfectly in our SUV. When we got to the restaurant Mark had to order for me because I didn't know what I wanted because nothing looked good. I wasn't hungry and didn't have an appetite...but I knew I should be hungry since I hadn't eaten since 1pm and it was nearly 8pm. I had a few bites of mac & cheese and a couple french fries but I just couldn't eat any more than that. We brought my leftovers (sampler platter included chicken tenders, pulled pork, and baby back ribs...which I would have normally eaten since I love BBQ). I went to bed right when we got home.
Woke up at 1am with body aches. I took my temperature and it was a low grade fever at 99.8, but our thermometer is super cheap and probably not accurate so it coulda been worse than that. I tried going back to sleep but couldn't get comfortable in any position because my back was hurting so badly. Had to end up taking two 325mg Tylenols and fell asleep for a few hours but woke up feeling the same in the morning.
I had a photo shoot scheduled for 10am. Wasn't hungry when I woke up, but brought a granola bar and some water with me because I knew I had to eat for Camden. Luckily the shoot was for my cousins' kiddos and I didn't have to fake it...I told them I felt like crap and to bear with me. They understood and were great sports which made my job so much easier. The photos actually turned out really good for me not being on my A-game so I was proud of that! You can see the photos here.
After the shoot I met Mark at Volkswagen to have my car serviced. We went to trade in our vacuum for a new one while we were waiting for the car to be serviced. I wasn't feeling well the whole time and just wanted to get it over with. I was hoping to feel better by 4 because I really wanted to go to our nephew Connor's baseball game. When we got back to the dealership we got some bad news. My car needed brakes, rotors, and an alignment. This was a shock to us since it only had 33k miles, so why would it need brakes and rotors already?! Anyway, after talking it through we decided to look into the option of trading it in for a brand new car to see if that was a better deal and would save us money. We definitely didn't have the extra money (we had just spent $600 on a new vacuum!) to spend on fixing the car and they were saying it was almost metal to metal and I shouldn't drive it long before getting it fixed. So I let Mark do all the talking and didn't care about anything except feeling better. I was drinking water the whole time because I hadn't eaten so I knew I needed to at least drink. We ended up leaving the dealership with a loaner because we decided to leave mine there (since we shouldn't drive it without fixing it first) and were going to go back on Monday night to finalize the paperwork of buying a new one. I felt bad but had to cancel on going to Connor's game because I felt so terrible that I knew I needed to go to the doctor.
So we were going to go to Panera so that I could get some soup but decided we should go to Patient First before we did that. When we got there they took us back right away. Had a low grade temperature there and when they did blood work they saw that I was dehydrated. They told me they wanted to put me on an IV to hydrate me. I asked if I could just go to Panera and eat instead since I hadn't eaten since 10am that morning. Not a chance - they said that wouldn't cut it and I needed much more fluid than a meal from Panera. So they couldn't find a vein opposite my elbow and had to try to put the IV in my hand/wrist. This was no fun because my veins are terrible and uncooperative when it comes to accessing them and I was tortured by the needle for what felt like forever before they finally got it in. I know Mark was laughing at me because he makes fun of how big of a wimp I am but that was like the worst pain ever! I think he was too busy taking photos of my nurse's buttcrack though...
I had to get a shot in the "hip" as they said (which really was my booty) for the nausea, and that actually helped because my stomach started feeling better. They tested me for the flu by swabbing a q-tip up my nose - definitely not a pleasant feeling either. After two bags of IV fluids they finally released me. Mark went to get Panera and I took like 4 bites of my soup before passing out. Sunday was a lazy day and I only got off the couch to go to the bathroom, which was pretty often! Couldn't go to work on Monday or Tuesday because I couldn't get far enough away from the bathroom to drive 40 miles, plus I still felt cruddy with stomach pains, so I stayed home and rested. The doc wanted me to follow up with my OB to make sure everything was good with the baby, so I went on Monday morning. He told me I basically had an intestinal flu and told me I could take Imodium and gave me a pill for nausea. He said the baby was just fine and measuring perfectly so I felt better after hearing that. I was hoping the sickness only affected me and not him and luckily that was the case. I ended up feeling much better when I woke up on Wednesday and went to work. It was like it just magically went away outta nowhere. Four days was long enough for that virus to stay with me!
Anyway, this is what we ended up getting on Monday night and we are actually saving money and have a brand new car where we don't have to pay outta pocket to fix anything AND our first month payment was waived...no brainer! We love it and I'm sure Camden will too!

Here's the lovely 23 week photo. Nothing cute to say because I still felt like crap, sorry...week 23 was a LONG and miserable one for this momma!
